This month is “Happiness Happens” month and I was asked by Shari’s Berries to write a post inspired by what makes me happen day in and day out.
I am trying to be a more positive person overall, but one thing I do try to do on a daily basis is to appreciate the things that are good and make me happy. Naturally, this campaign was something I wanted to be a part of.
As someone with an anxiety disorder, I find it difficult to be in the general public around large groups of people. I work full time and sometimes even working in a small office environment with my ten coworkers can trigger an anxiety attack. I think compared to 5 years ago that I am much better today, am more aware of who I am and how anxiety affects me, and how I can work to not let anxiety rule my life. However, even when i am doing well, not a day goes by that I do not have some level of anxiety. That being said, there are some things that calm me and make me happy no matter what my day has been like.
Coming home at the end of the day to these two cuddle bugs is probably the thing that makes me happiest of all.
I come home so often to find these two napping together and it makes my heart warm and I feel genuinely happy. How could you not just fall in love with a scene like that? K loves his baby boy and Chester loves his daddy. While I am like Chester’s mother and we have a really special, sweet bond, Chester and K are more like litter mates and buddies. They play together, eat together, and nap together. I have said time and time again that pets are therapeutic and to see this pure human-animal interaction is so peaceful and calming and the ultimate in inexpensive therapy.
For me, this is how #HappinessHappens in my daily life.
How does Happiness Happen for you? I’d love to hear what makes you genuinely happy :)
Have a wonderful evening and day to come!
Megan
